Top 10 Reasons to start a Blog

The glamorous life of a blogger. We wake up, flawless, drink our coffee and check our email. We have no obligations and, obviously, we do not sweat we just glisten. Of course anyone can be a blogger with just a little hard work and creativity. Here are my Top 10 tips and reasons for starting a blog:

http://collegetimes.com/2015/01/14/six-ways-know-celeb-obsession-gone-far
10. Reason: An ode to your favorite celebrity. There are Tumblrs and Twitter profiles dedicated to the work, style, and actions of celebrities everywhere. If you feel very passionately about a celebrity and their work, go ahead and make a shrine to them! Not a weird creepy shrine with candles because thats a little too far, reflagging all their greatest fashion moments isn't that creepy.

9. Tip: have an archive of articles prepared before publishing. Having backups are good for days when you don't have time to sit down and write. They also come in handy for busy weeks like finals or if you're sick. This way you can also stay organized and motivated.

8. Reason: Its a more productive way to watch Netflix. Multitasking is key, and by key I mean split screen and type while keeping up with your favorite Netflix show. This is far more productive and mostly makes me feel less lazy as a person.

7. Tip: Planning out articles for the week so that you know when you're publishing what. This also allows you to relate your articles to topics that are hot in the media or even days of the week (i.e. Articles to cheer people up on that Dreary Monday).

6. Reason: Document a journey! If you are you climbing Mount Kilimanjaro or just going on a hike in your backyard, exploring and adventure are always interesting and entertaining. Plus nature can make some pretty pictures along the way.

5. Tip: PICTURES! Graphics, picture, gifs, and videos are a great addition to your blog. This gives your blog a more visual appeal and also makes it not all wordy and boring. Most of us have cameras on our phones or computers so snapping a quick pic can speak volumes more than words. Pictures really do mean a thousand words.

4. Reason: In a world where everything seems to be going to the toilet, providing some comic relief can always help. I mean SNL made a pretty penny on getting people to laugh. We all need a good "I'm laughing so hard I'm crying" moment every now and then.

3. Reason: Take a stand on important and serious topics. With a lot of controversial topics that are currently being debated in the media (i.e. abortion, gay rights) and with upcoming elections, its important to take a role in politics. Speaking out on your opinions and ideas is a good way to be a little more involved. Of course helping out in campaigns and even voting can be a more important role, but if you feel strongly about a topic go ahead and put your views out there. You may find people that you share your ideals with.

2. Tip: If your need to research any part of an article DO cite your source. Not only is this the right thing to do, but your readers may want to take a look at the articles you got your information from so making a nice little reference section is important. This also goes for pictures.

1.Reason: Put yourself out there. We all have opinions, ideas and creativity. So put it out there! You have an inspirational story? Inspire others! You never know what lives you will touch.

BEST DATE IDEAS EVER

So my sister and I were sitting around watching The Big Bang Theory and we saw Penny and Lenard go on a date at the gun range and I couldn't help, but think "That's a brilliant date idea." Naturally I decided I ought to make a post of really clever dating ideas.

  • Go to a gun range and shoot guns. That's always fun.
  • The Zoo is always good especially since animals are cute and all.
  • Bridge Jumping/ Cliff Diving. Just be careful because a side trip to the ER isn't as romantic, but it is memorable.
  • Para-sailing. Like the post above, don't hurt yourself.
  • Art museum for all art enthusiasts . Plus its a good quiet place to talk.
  • Aquarium because who doesn't love staring at fish.
  • Have an old movie marathon.
  • If you are outdoorsy, go fishing together. Or hunting or camping if you're on that Bass Pro Shop level.
  • If your man is confident enough, go get mani pedis. Not super romantic, but it will be funny.
  • Paintball!!
  • Going to a driving range and play golf.
  • Be Katniss and learn to shoot a bow and arrow.
  • Rock Climbing. You get a great view of each others butts.
  • Go horseback riding!
If you have any amazing date ideas comment!

10 Rules to High School

This is actually a list of rules that I made for my younger sister and fellow underclassmen friends about how to survive high school. So read and take it as you want and maybe comment some of your own advice.

1. It's just high school. If you make good grades and do well you can escape in less than 4 years.

2. Being the most popular in high school isn't a real accomplishment.

3. Don't date in high school. It will either end poorly, end at graduation, or if you are really lucky, like in the top 2% of lucky people, it will end in marriage. The risk isn't always worth it.

4. Constantly try new things and only do things you love. Putting it on your college resume isn't worth the headache and insanity.

5. Surround yourself with people who make you feel good, and keep them there. Good and real friends are hard to come by.

6. Live fearlessly. This is the one time where you can experiment with who you are and its still socially acceptable to almost get arrested.

7. Be a nerd. Being smart is actually cool and don't let anyone tell you otherwise because they suck.

8. Whatever you do, do not do anything permanent to yourself. That piercing/ tattoo is a mistake.

9. Scars are permanent too. Don't give yourself a permanent reminder of pain.

10. Be independent. Relying on parents, teachers, and friends is nice, but they can't run your life.

15 Rules to Being Female

Since I have recently graduated from high school (finally) I decided to pass along some words of wisdom that I have learned about... well... being a female in the great wide world that we live in.

1. Always as about others

2. Remember, you're in no place to judge others.

3. Always have your nails painted. You never know when you will need to flick someone off.

4. You have one body. Its the only thing that's truly yours. Take care of it.

5. No one is above you, no one is below you.

6. Being on your period is an excuse to eat whatever you want.

7. Breakups aren't an excuse to drink. They're an excuse to workout.

8. Hair always grows, mix it up from time to time.

9.Self tanners can fool anyone. Lying actually can save your skin.

10. If you're going to wage war, be strategic.

11. Cussing isn't unladylike if they deserve it.

12. You don't need an excuse to get dressed up.

13. Don't follow people, lead them.

14. There is nothing wrong with "Me" time.

15. Being crazy is sometimes a good things.
